dog run

Pet Sitting Lesson #2

Lesson #2 See previous post in May entitled "Advice I Wish I Would've Been Given" for Lesson #1 (always have a shovel in your car.)  Lesson #2:  take more poop bags that you think you will need.  There are several reasons for this:

1.  Dogs that run always and I mean always poop.  Sometimes twice.  Must have at least 2 bags.

2.  For this next point, how do I delicately say this?  Messy poop sometimes requires more than 1 bag as I experienced yesterday and luckily I had an extra bag.  I'm not so sure that it was even that the poop was messy, I just made a mess of it.  I'm not sure how I would've continued the run carrying a messy bag.  That's all the detail I'll go into :)

Dog running with Bentley

hahahahaha  I still laugh when I think about him.  We were running along and he was in front of me.  All of the sudden he puts the brakes on and timidly approaches a statue of a polar bear that is a yard ornament.  The reason this makes me laugh is (1) because it was funny and (2) Sloan used to do the same thing.  There is a set of lions on Dilworth Road East (maybe West) that we'd run by and she would do the same thing.  I've never seen another dog do it until today.  hahahahaha!!! We had a good run.  I checked his water bowls when we got back.  They were both pretty full so I'm not sure how much water he'd had today.  I dumped them out and refilled them with fresh water.

PS Whose turn is it to cut the lawn???  LOL

Dog Running with Buddy and Dog Walking with Sam

We have started a new routine in our house.  I'm running with Buddy first thing in the morning and then coming back to get Sam and we all go for a walk.  The walk is a nice cool down for Buddy and me and Sam of course loves it.  Sam is not thrilled to be left at home but he actually does okay when we leave.  If you've read my earlier posts, Sam does not do well in the heat and Sam gets hot very easily so no running for Sam Sam.  If we have him in the yard and he gets excited and runs around like a crazy dog (you dog owners will know this behavior), inevitably he ends up barfing.  He has always been sensitive to the heat even when he was younger.  Both dogs will be pooped for the rest of the day!  (At least until it is time for their afternoon walk and then they will both act like they are 2, not 9 and 11!)
