pet sitting on Fri 3/9/12
Maisy & Gracie - I met Wesley at your house yesterday afternoon. Maisy was a little slow to come around but she did and we harnessed her up to go outside and she peed. We left her harness on so that Wesley wouldn't have to put it on for the pm visit. See her note below that she did take it off for the night. Here is Wesley's note from last night (they are obviously in very good hands. :)
I arrived at 8:15pm, checked mail was there this visit was not at 3:15 visit. As I opened the door two barks and then, Gracie & Maisy, were visibly excited to see me and seem to remember me. I do every motion with ease, QUIET is key, I don't even talk to myself. (Come on, you have done it once :). ) Phone on silence. I believe being alone is better for Maisy, because she only had me to depend on. Back to visit......headed to lower level and grabbed a Pep Treat, good thing they buy the big bag. Just grabbed one because it is so easy to break apart. I opened the door they were both on my heels, so Miasy must have needed to potty. Gracie already figured me out and knew I had TREAT. I got a hold of the outside hook and it was nice to have the harness already on there. (but i took it off of her for the night) Hooked her right up to lead used treat to intice her out the door. I sat down by the door on the deck and just sat there, when they did something good like go off the deck or lie down I would give them another piece of the treat. Maisy finally relaxed and went exploring around the trees, did her #2 business and stayed out for a bit before joining Gracie and I back by the door. I added water to one of the bowls and both food bowls were empty. Back inside.....we sit on the floor and finished the Pep treat I had left. This is when I very gently removed Maisy's harness for the night. I will leave it on in the morning and remove at late night visit. She was not as close to me as she was Kim on the first visit, but all three of us were in a circle and we just enjoyed the silence for ten minutes. I did get in strokes of affection; especially to Maisy during our "quiet circle". I then moved to the kitchen table to write my visit notes. Gracie was at my feet and Maisy was lying on a pillow downstairs. But, I called her because I could not see her and she came right out!
I found it very hard to leave Gracie and Maisy for the night. It really tugged at my heart. I will be headed over early so, I avoid some morning school traffic . Looking forward to it.
